The Panorama team is seeking a Vice President of Business Development & Growth supporting APAC, India and EMEA. The VP, Business Development & Growth is responsible for all aspects of Business Development, Strategic Partnership for APAC & India, along with formulating and delivering the region’s growth strategy for APAC, India and EMEA. This will include the introduction of new products and services and the creation and strategic account management of existing relationships and alliances while driving new business opportunities to significantly accelerate RCI’s growth and profitability and help fulfil the company’s vision to transform our members’ travel experience.

There are a number of key success criteria for the role :

  • Working closely with marketing, business development and revenue management to drive circa $20 million revenue for APAC and India and + additional $1 million EBITDA.

  • Build out and execute the business development (APAC & India) and growth strategy (APAC, India, EMEA) for the region. Responsible for growing and developing more than 700 affiliate accounts and managing the market complexity of over 30 countries with many languages and variations in timeshare / travel regulations.

  • Evangelise the region growth agenda and successfully roll out ARN and panorama travel.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development (BD) – APAC & India

  • Develops strategies and plans for all RCI APAC and India businesses in conjunction with the business leaders.

  • Provides overall leadership of the BD organisation in APAC and India, to ensure the company’s short and long term profitability and growth across multiple regions.

  • Empowers sales and regional directors of key accounts to exceed sales/financial targets by creating and developing existing and new business partnerships through different products and services

  • Strengthen and reinforce business relationships with all developers as well as potential clients.

  • Understand business challenges for key clients and ensure solutions-based products and/or services are designed to address these, thereby increasing revenue streams from existing customers

  • Bring new and innovative ideas to the business while exploring opportunities to expand.

  • Ensure retention of major accounts through effective and consultative business partnering, strong commercial negotiation and ensuring world class service delivery to key clients.

  • Build strong relationships with industry bodies (e.g. RDO etc.), key business partners in the timeshare industry and the broader tourism-oriented real estate industry.

Growth – APAC, India & EMEA

  • Maintains a deep understanding of regional landscape and perspectives on potential opportunities including M&A targets

  • Identifies new business opportunities – new customers, geographies, business models or products

  • Develops strategic proposals that will increase revenue and improve customer acquisition, experience and engagement.

  • Assesses impact of potential opportunities across multiple dimensions, provides a commercial viewpoint based on an in-depth understanding and analysis of commercial and competitive information.

  • Secures new business.

  • Partners with other members of the leadership team to align on concept development, experimenting and deployment strategy for new offerings

  • Responsible for Project Management and local operational teams to ensure successful implementation of Growth offerings

New Product Development - APAC, India & EMEA

  • Develops new products and pricing to ensure that the business remains competitive and market leading. This involves business case development to ensure profitability, and define launch to market.

  • Identifies and prioritizes new service offerings to develop, either internally or through partnerships.

  • Pilots new services to confirm feasibility and deepen understanding of how to successfully operate new business lines.

  • Develops strategy for broad deployment of new services and partner with regional leadership to implement.

  • Manages P&L for new service lines.

  • Responsible for Project Management and local operational teams to ensure successful implementation of New Product offerings.

EVR and Affinity Clubs - APAC, India & EMEA

  • Ownership of the multi-region non-member rentals line of business, including EVR and Affinity Clubs

  • Responsible for cost centre budget and P&L

Management/Leadership

  • Oversee operating budgets to ensure business goals are met with greatest efficiency

  • Build and lead high performing a multi-region business development and growth team. Create a cohesive, collaborative, ambitious and execution focused organization, resourcing responsibly in order to deliver business requirements and strategic initiatives.

  • Develop and promote a HEART culture (Hospitality, Engagement, Accountability, Respect, Teamwork) across all teams and establishing high performance as the standard.

  • Build and sustain high associate engagement levels, aligning annual objectives to strategic goals and development planning.

  • Provide strong leadership through effective resourcing, talent management, development and succession planning consistent with the culture and values and supporting people to realize their full potential. 

  • Spearhead communications outlining the strategic direction of the organization and provide guidance to staff in order to meet Regional and Global business objectives; serve as the champion of change.

  • Partnering with key constituents across the organisation to make process improvements to reduce costs

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven track record of evaluating and negotiating complex business partnerships, driving new partnerships, creative deal making, and effective relationship management (minimum 15 years).

  • Comprehensive knowledge of online travel, timeshare, the hospitality industry.  Exposure to and comfort with hospitality companies’ business models is required.

  • Proven success in developing effective business development strategies and executing to achieve the financial goals

  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and analytical skills

  • Highly entrepreneurial and results focused in achieving business goals with a demonstrated track record of being motivated by results.

  • Demonstrable track record of achievement in delivering profitable revenue growth in a highly competitive B2B and B2C service environment, ideally within the online travel, vacation ownership sector.

  • Experience in a dynamic growth environment with growth coming from new product/service offerings.

  • Will have held full P&L responsibility at senior levels, ideally within an international group with a strong customer service orientation.

  • Adaptable and agile in an ever changing environment.

  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management.

  • Strong communication skills, with ability to successfully partner with multiple stakeholders to build momentum behind implementing priority initiatives.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate others to move toward a common goal.

  • Degree level qualification in business or related subject or the equivalent in job experience
