Travel +Leisure Manager, Yield Management is responsible for monitoring, managing and maintaining allocations for T+L booking platform and inventory distribution within various markets and/or regions. They will look for new opportunities in supply, develop high ROI opportunities including but not limited to increasing market options, campaign/subscription suggestions, mark-up strategy, etc.  Incumbent will work closely with the integration team to develop and structure booking platform strategy with key features in sorting strategy and analysis on effectiveness.

  • Using market, historical and demand data, incumbent is to analyze reporting to maximize top line revenue with each supplier across all sales channels (VAX/T+L booking platform/Subscriptions).  They will need to be able to identify and effectively communicate strategic and tactical initiatives so they can be implemented to achieve forecast targets in line with subscription and booking platform revenue goals.  

  • This position will partner with internal and external stakeholders such as rental sales, yield, marketing, suppliers and accounting. In collaboration with such partners, this position will be responsible for maximizing overall revenue and subscriptions through the implementation of promotions & campaigns strategies to push higher conversions.

  • The position will be able to leverage data analytics and market trends to identify and effectively communicate revenue opportunities, drive performance results and outline business decisions. This includes both revenue streams from the subscription model as well as the platform booking model.  

  • Lead review of daily/weekly/monthly reporting and revenue/market performance narratives.

  • Monitor proper rate positioning/sort orders and inventory for each market versus the supply to achieve budgeted goals for conversion into the subscription program and rental bookings.

  • Manager will work to continually develop and expand VAX travel agent program.

  • Collaborate to develop and establish strategy/processes for auxiliary revenue from ad placements with suppliers on the website.  Communicate with the suppliers to drive the features/benefits of placement. Monitor and report on KPI data internally and possibly with the supplier. 

  • Support, develop, and identify key elements required to convert website visitors into subscription members. Use of data analytics and creative solutions to prove best methods for conversions.  

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

Education

  • 4 year degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management or related field experience

Knowledge and skills

  • Familiarity with hospitality industry, specifically OTA functionality, reporting and strategy.

  • Proven record of revenue success in hotel profession.

  • Subscription experience preferred.

  • Strong analytical approach to problem solving.

  • Ability to forecast and implement optimal strategies.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to take initiative.

  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.

  • Must work well under pressure and deadlines.

  • Must be able to effectively cope with change and shift gears comfortably.

  • Ability to adapt communication style to various audiences such as senior leadership, directors, supervisors, colleagues, internal and external clients.

Technical Skills

  • Extensive knowledge operating MS Excel, Word and Outlook

  • Knowledge of revenue management strategies

  • Knowledge of Trisept Solutions applications a plus

  • Knowledge of Third Party Extranets such as Expedia Partner Central, Booking.com, etc.

  • Knowledge of GDS connections

  • Knowledge of Power BI or similar reporting tools

Job experience

  • A minimum of 4 years of Pricing or Revenue Management experience preferred

  • 2+ years with a leading Online Travel Agent preferred (OTA)

  • Familiarity with hospitality industries (hotel, car, air, leading OTAs, GDS, etc.).

  • Experience with leading teams and working with remote reports.

  • Data Analytics/Science experience

  • OTA experience within larger markets
