The Specialist, Social Media Marketing for the Travel + Leisure Co. Enterprise Social Media team is a dynamic marketing professional who is responsible for supporting the Travel + Leisure Co. Growth Businesses/Non-Member Businesses (Book Travel + Leisure & Extra Holidays) brand social communities and platforms. In addition to the support of the Growth Businesses, the Specialist, Social Media Marketing will also be responsible for reviewing and responding to social media mentions and private messages for these brands in partnership with the Coordinator, Social Media Marketing. This position will develop editorial calendars and engaging content for both paid and organic social media channels. They will also manage the boosted Facebook promotions to drive key KPI’s.

This role interfaces with all facets of the business, including Extra Holidays Marketing, Book Travel + Leisure Marketing, Brand, and Global Ecommerce and Digital Marketing. Reporting to the Manager, Social Media, the Specialist, Social Media Marketing must have a strong background in managing branded social accounts, social content creation and distribution, and social analytics tools. This role will be tasked in growing and maintaining the audiences of the Growth Businesses, increasing website referral traffic and maintaining a high level of social media customer care support. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Social Media Content Creation

  • Develop editorial calendars for both organic and paid based on strategic plan

  • Create organic and paid content for multiple brands in alignment with social media and business partner campaigns

  • Work with internal or agency partners on creative assets to be used on social channels

  • Manage Facebook boost promotions strategy, content creation, budget and reporting

  • Copywrite for organic content and creative assets, utilizing proper grammar and AP Style

  • Assign UTM link tracking to linked content to ensure accurate tracking & reporting

Community Management

  • Moderate and monitor content and engagement across all social channels

  • Resolve and proactively engage with social media questions/comments including escalating relevant guest issues for recovery

  • Regularly update tagging structure for inbound messages to provide best feedback & insights from community moderation

  • Identify possible crisis or brand-threatening situations and escalate to appropriate partners

Social Media Campaign Management

  • Develop & support campaigns in partnership with Marketing, Communications, Corporate, Brand, Book Travel + Leisure and Extra Holidays teams

  • Monitor for wins and opportunities of larger campaigns

  • Set deadlines and level expectations on multiple projects with competing priorities

  • Create and execute paid advertising efforts on social channels

  • Monitor trends and identify new social media marketing opportunities, using them as inspiration to fuel the creation of engaging campaigns that deliver strong results

Social Analytics/Reporting

  • Use analytic tools to assist in analyzing performance of campaigns and link tracking

  • Monitor and optimize paid efforts for community health

  • Create reports regarding campaigns, content, best practices and channel analysis

  • Build social media presentations for business partners with campaign metrics and key learnings 

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Marketing or business-related field

  • 2-3+ years of experience managing social media sites and using various social media programs to deliver content and engage with other users who are generating their unique content

  • Proficiency in social media content management platforms like Sprinklr, Spreadfast, Hootsuite or equivalent

  • Previous experience with platform-specific marketing platforms like Facebook Ads Manager

  • Basic understanding of UTM link tracking and Google Analytics

  • Highly organized with an ability to identify and develop efficient operating processes and procedures

  • Ability to build and leverage a strong network of peers and business partners

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong typing, editing, and proofreading abilities

  • Proven self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Experience with Canva or similar graphic design platform is a plus

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment

  • Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to handle confidential information

  • Exceptional customer service / “happy to help” attitude

Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
