Site Controller

  • Supervise 2 Accountants.
  • Coordinate and oversee daily activity for income audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general cashiering, night audit and purchasing/receiving.
  • Managing and supporting the development, implementation and administration of all financial control and accounting procedures, in compliance with GAAP.
  • Supervise and review month-end close process. 
  • Review monthly reports including Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations & Monthly recurring reports.
  • Prepare monthly cash flow forecast for 7 Associations and work with treasury for investment opportunity.
  • Partner with General Manager to prepare and coordinate multiple annual budgets and forecast for the corresponding Associations.
  • Obtain a full understanding of the Internal Audit Standard Operating Procedures. Perform mock audits to ensure compliance.
  • Manage process for internal and external auditors.
  • Attend and present at multiple board meetings.
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.

Essential Job Functions: 

Daily monitoring of cash operating accounts of the HOA’s to ensure cash needs can be met. Initiate cash transfers from investment accounts to operating accounts in a timely manner.

Review and approve A/P invoices

Prepare monthly cash flows for 7 HOA’s Monthly re-forecasting of the financial operating statements

Oversee the annual budgeting process of 7 HOA’s.

Attend HOA board meetings to present the financial results. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and oversee daily activity for income audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general cashiering, night audit and purchasing/receiving (45%)
  • Oversee month-end close process (15%)
  • Review monthly reports Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations & Monthly recurring reports (20%).
  • Partner with General Manager to prepare and coordinate multiple annual budgets and forecast for the Hotel & corresponding Associations (15%).                  
  • Performs other duties as needed (5% time)

                                                                                                        

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting)

Familiarity with general ledger accounting systems, strong PC skills specifically with Microsoft environment and MS Office.

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment where a daily “open items” list may change based upon needs of management. 

Strong initiative, flexibility, and the ability to thrive in a deadline oriented atmosphere.

Ability to communicate decisions and recommendations to management in a clear and concise manner.

5+ years of Accounting experience including general ledger analysis, budgets, forecasting, variance reporting & reconciliation analysis.  

3+ years of Hospitality background.

Complexity:  

The Site Controller should have the ability to analyze situations and make routine decisions and communicate those decisions clearly to the Director and the team. 

The Site Controller should be able to work with little supervision while at the same time keeping the Director & General Manager informed of any necessary matters. 

This position has impact on both the resort management level as well as the corporate level. 

This position is responsible for managing 2 Accountants including periodic reviews, motivation and team building, and staff meetings/trainings.

Work Environment:  

Computer – 85% - review of financials and managing 

email/Phone – 15% - conference calls and communication with operations and corporate staff
