The Portfolio Risk Analyst III will be responsible for all aspects of portfolio reporting and analytics. This position will help develop and maintain best practices for all portfolio analytical processes, and will manage our systems for collecting, analyzing and reporting information. The Analyst will have demonstrated proficiency in deploying successful business solutions and must be a strategic thinker with a strong ability to influence all levels of the organization. An ideal candidate will be proficient in financial modeling, must be highly proficient in excel, and experienced in various forecasting techniques. This position interacts with Senior Management on a daily basis, and must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide Loan portfolio performance analytics and insights for the development of strategy

  • Create and analyze the loan default performance curves. Design and develop ad-hoc views of the default loan curve based on various loan attributes. Present findings to senior management.

  • Support the securitization process by creating historical default performance curves.

  • Analyze risk in the loan portfolio including, originations trends, and default performance.

  • Provide decision support to management team by querying, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data. Proactively monitor and report relevant changes in portfolio performance to management.

  • Conduct ad-hoc research projects incorporating project design, data collection and analysis, summarization of findings, and presentation of results for areas such as portfolio performance. Promote innovative ways to visualize and digest complex data.

  • Work directly with internal business partners to manage internal systems related to portfolio information and financing options.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or Mathematics from an accredited four-year institution. MBA Preferred.

Competencies

  • Systematic problem solver with strong critical thinking skills

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with senior management and peers

  • Advanced technical skillset including:

    - MS Applications

    - Advance understanding and experience working with relational databases

    - Query and Data Visualizations

    - Financial modeling

    - Consumer behavior predictive modeling

  • Demonstrate success in managing multiple projects within strict deadlines.

Job experience

  • 4+ years financial reporting and analysis
