RCI, part of the Wyndham Destinations family of companies, is seeking a Director, Global Product Development. The Director, Global Product Development, will be a visionary leader serving as a key representative of RCI interacting with multiple global business units for new product development and growth for the organization’s various programs and brands (e.g. RCI, DAE, LHS, ARN). This role will lead new product development activities from vetting of new ideas, through prioritization and early execution. This leader will be comfortable working directly, and through team members, to influence and achieve significant new product growth.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be comfortable functioning in the role of an internal start-up and have oversight of global product development strategy in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Direct the team to manage and continuously improve the intake, vetting,        prioritization, resource allocation and piloting of new product development.
  • Mentor team members on effective product development technique; and have the experience to know when to apply tried and true techniques or try something new.
  • Partner across departments and business units to operationalize prioritized products.
  • Create product development plans to support strategic initiatives including     financial models (with finance), pitch decks, and materials around key growth initiatives, including communication of key product success and growth     metrics
  • Present well-informed, strategic business cases to the executive leadership team.
  • Collaborate with regional leaders on B2C, B2B2C, and B2B sales strategy of new product development initiatives.
  • Stay apprised of the changing travel environment and technological advances that open the door to new opportunities for growth.
  • Rapidly test new potential products for profitable, repeatable sales growth with the ability to learn quickly through data which products need further        investment, which need to pivot and which need to be ended.
  • Develop a robust product portfolio and product map and effectively             communicate to internal stakeholders.   

Travel Requirements:

  • Meet with internal and external business and technology partners along with new and existing B2B partners to support development & integration work, 25% - 50% of time.
  • Travel to regional RCI offices to participate in Global Product Development planning and development meetings.  Typically, once a year per office.
  • Attend industry conferences. Typically, twice a year.

Qualifications:

a)   Education

  • BA/BS Business, Management or Marketing (or similar fields)

  
b)   Knowledge and skills

  • Able to deal effectively with a wide range of people and cultures; strong writing and oral communication skills; strong understanding of hospitality and travel technology systems, able to lead and motivate teams; strong                 organizational skills needed to deliver, on time, to a wide range of customers. 

c)   Technical Skills

  • Business Analysis
  • Product Development Skills
  • Project Management Skills

d)  Job experience

  • 10+ years of product development/management
  • Hands-on knowledge of travel ecommerce business is preferred
  • Demonstrated success delivering new products for consumers

Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
